SevenTwenty in the News

SevenTwenty Strategies announced today that it has been awarded with a prestigious 2014 Gold MarCom Award for its Net Effect EU documentary video in the Informational Video category. The MarCom Awards is an international awards competition that recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communications professionals.

The firm created a first of its kind video documentary exploring the rise of digital engagement in the European Union – and the amazing opportunities the European Union’s online petition system and the European Commission’s European Citizens Initiative are creating for EU citizens to make their voices heard. The video allowed viewers to meet Members of the European Parliament, Global 500 executives, nonprofit leaders, trade associations and citizens of Brussels, Rome, London and Washington, D.C., to learn how the Internet and social media are shaping democracy. “Developing this documentary was a direct extension of our 15-year commitment to growing digital democracy,” said Pam Fielding, President and Founder of SevenTwenty Strategies. “We want to share with EU and US citizens, organizations, policymakers and media the critical role and impact digital democracy is having in the European Union. We are honored to be recognized for our work and are extremely proud of our team who made the documentary a reality. The real winners of this award are the amazing European citizens, organizations and lawmakers who are leveraging the Internet and social media to strengthen democracy in the EU."

There were over 6,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and 15 other countries in this year’s competition.

The MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards for excellence. Entries come from corporate marketing ad communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. Winners were selected from over 200 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts including marketing, publications, marketing/promotion, public service/pro bono, creativity and electronic/interactive.
